Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Clean Energy Finance Corporation can no longer invest in Australian farmland if the main goal is to create carbon credits through forestry or land regeneration.
The Clean Energy Finance Corporation is also banned from making other farm investments that are listed in the regulations.
The Investment Mandate now includes a rule that bans these farm investments. Any previous directions that conflict with this ban no longer apply.
