Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Minister for Health must give a notice to people who provide an undertaking that the Minister accepts. This notice must state when the undertaking starts, how long it lasts, and that the person can ask the Administrative Review Tribunal to review the time period.
The Minister for Health can approve or refuse written applications to make a premises an accredited pathology laboratory.
The Minister for Health must give a copy of the approval to the person who applied for the pathology laboratory accreditation.
The Commonwealth must refund fees paid under the old pathology fees law if the approval or undertaking starts on or after 1 July 2025.
