Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Registered health practitioners face up to 5 years jail if they prescribe or give certain drugs to a child under 18 to treat gender dysphoria.
Health practitioners can still give these drugs to a child if the treatment started before this law began, if the child has precocious puberty, if the child has a verified genetic disorder of sex development, or if the treatment is for a purpose other than gender dysphoria.
Health practitioners who break this ban will be found to have engaged in unprofessional conduct under the laws that regulate health practitioners.
