Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Pay for holders of public office must be less than $430,000 per year.
The Remuneration Tribunal must consider superannuation entitlements when setting pay for principal executive offices.
The Minister can set a different pay limit for the year using a legislative instrument.
The Minister's instrument must be made by 1 July of the previous year to take effect.
The Tribunal no longer needs to give written consent for certain administrative matters.
