If this bill passes, it means that:
The Australian Government must create a National Housing and Homelessness Plan.
Housing Australia is the lead agency to implement the plan.
The Australian Government must appoint a National Housing and Homelessness Advocate; it must also establish an office for that advocate.
The National Housing and Homelessness Advocate can start reviews of systemic housing issues.
The National Housing and Homelessness Advocate can request advice and information for these reviews.
The Australian Government must establish the National Housing Consumer Council.
Members of the National Housing Consumer Council must disclose their interests to the Minister and the council.
