Courts can reduce sentences if a person cooperates with law enforcement agencies; this applies to the investigation of the offence or any Commonwealth child sex offence.
The sentence reduction for cooperating with law enforcement can be up to 25% of the specified period.
The bill removes several specific table items from the Crimes Act 1914.
