Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Authorised people can force drivers on reserved land to stop; this is to collect fees or check that fees were paid.
Drivers on reserved land must show a valid ticket, pass, or receipt through the windscreen; otherwise, they must provide electronic proof of payment if asked.
Fines of up to 20 penalty units apply for failing to show proof of payment or refusing to stop for fee collection.
The managing authority for reserved land can appoint people to collect fees.
The Aboriginal Land Council Elections Act 2004 is repealed.
The Land Acquisition authority no longer has to follow certain notice requirements when acquiring land.
Public notices for living marine resources must be in the Gazette; they must also appear in a daily newspaper, on a Department website, or via other electronic means.
