Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Minister for Health must give a notice when accepting a pathology undertaking; this notice must state when the undertaking starts; it must state how long it lasts.
The notice must explain the right to ask the Administrative Review Tribunal to review the undertaking period.
The Minister for Health can approve or refuse applications for premises to be accredited pathology laboratories; the Minister must give the applicant a copy of any approval.
The Commonwealth must refund fees paid under the repealed pathology fees act; this applies to undertakings or premises approvals that start on or after 1 July 2025.
