If this bill passes, it means that:
Establishes the Northern Territory Education Standards and Registration Board to monitor school curriculum and teaching standards.
Board and committee members commit a strict liability offence if they fail to disclose a conflict of interest; they must not be present during deliberations for those matters.
People face fines or up to 2 years in prison for recklessly disclosing protected information.
Board members, staff and advisers are protected from civil or criminal liability for acts done in good faith.
The Minister can fire a Board member for bankruptcy, misconduct, or missing three consecutive meetings without permission.
The Board must follow written directions from the Minister; it must also publish a code of conduct on its website.
The Board must issue achievement certificates and provide records to students or former students upon request.
