Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Providers of licensed interactive wagering services must pay a levy for each levy period.
The ACMA determines the levy amount via legislative instrument; it must consult the Communications Minister before doing so.
The ACMA can designate specific levy periods and set applicable percentages for those periods.
Total levies collected cannot exceed the cost of the Opt-out Register; this includes ACMA's operational costs and a percentage of upfront costs during designated periods.
