Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

People holding a container approval face a fine of up to 50 penalty units if they break an approval condition.
Registered persons, those performing licensable public health risk procedures, and those carrying on licensable public health risk activities must make their records available for inspection by authorised officers; failure to do so carries a fine of 5 penalty units.
Registered assistance animal trainers and assessors must tell the registrar if they are convicted of an offence under animal welfare or domestic animal laws; failure to disclose this is a strict liability offence with a maximum fine of 50 penalty units.
Waste managers can amend a licence or waste transporter registration if the licensee applies in writing or if the manager decides to do so.
The Veterinary Practice authority must make its register available to the public for free on an ACT government website.
