Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Sex is defined as a person's sex at birth; this is determined by chromosomal and reproductive characteristics.
Medical, surgical, or hormonal interventions do not change a person's sex.
Men are defined as people whose sex is male; women are defined as people whose sex is female.
People operating single-sex arrangements cannot be sued for discrimination if they restrict access to protect the safety, dignity, privacy, or equality of women and girls or men and boys.
Operators of single-sex arrangements can legally exclude people who identify as the opposite sex to the arrangement's biological sex requirement.
These exemptions override any State or Territory laws that would otherwise make this conduct unlawful.
