Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Minister must not make a methodology determination unless it is fully consistent with the objects of the Act.
The Minister must make all relevant documentation, modelling and science available for public consultation before making a determination.
The Minister can now act if a determination may not comply with specific requirements; previously this only applied if it did not comply.
The Regulator or Administrator can now act if a determination may not comply with offsets integrity standards; previously this required a failure to comply.
