Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Private Health Insurance Insurer Board must use a single percentage to work out its share of health insurance benefits.
The age of the insured person no longer affects this percentage.
These changes apply to premiums paid on or after 1 April 2027.
The law removes previous rules that linked the benefit share to the age of the insured person.
