Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Consolidated Revenue Fund appropriates $178,650,611,000 for government services for the financial year ending 30 June 2027.
The Finance Minister can determine extra expenditure if there is an urgent need; this applies if the need was unforeseen or omitted from the original budget.
The Finance Minister cannot determine more than $400 million for any single purpose.
Non-corporate entities can apply funds specified in departmental or administered items to their expenditure.
Entities must be paid the full amount specified in an item if portfolio statements treat them as corporate entities.
Money can be debited from an appropriation item and credited to a special account if the account covers that item's purpose.
The Appropriation Act (No. 1) 2026-2027 is repealed on 1 July 2029.
