Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Treasurer must give the Speaker a copy of the authorisation within 5 business days of authorising a Treasurer's advance.
The Treasurer must give the Speaker a copy of the authorisation within 5 business days of authorising a capital works reserve advance.
The Speaker must give a copy of these authorisations to every member of the Legislative Assembly as soon as possible.
The Deputy Speaker or the clerk of the Legislative Assembly can act as the Speaker if the Speaker is unavailable.
A person is unavailable if they are absent from duty; this also includes if there is a vacancy in the office or they cannot perform their functions for any reason.
