Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

People must surrender a domestic animal certificate or licence within 7 days of a written notice if their credit card payment was not honoured; failure to do so is a criminal offence and carries a fine of up to 5 penalty units (2026: $800).
People whose credit card payments for domestic animal fees fail must pay the original amount plus any charges the Territory incurred.
The registrar can suspend the benefit of a domestic animal licence or certificate until failed payments are settled.
Licensed agents must keep records at their main place of business, in an immediately accessible electronic form (which is considered not kept if lost without a backup), or in another way agreed with the commissioner for fair trading.
The Architects Board can require a complainant to provide more information about a complaint.
Security industry licensees can surrender or cancel their licence by giving written notice and the licence to the commissioner for fair trading.
Waste managers must make registers of waste facility licences and waste transporters available to authorised persons for free, and must make specific waste information available to the public via a government office, a website, or by providing a copy on request.
People applying for waste facility licences or waste transporter registrations must provide their registered business name and any trading names they use.
Waste facility licensees must provide the register with their contact details, business information, land details, and the types of waste they handle.
