Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Local planning schemes must be consistent with Town Planning and Policies (TPPs).
The consistency requirement for TPPs does not apply to certain draft schemes or amendments prepared before the TPPs were in effect.
Planning authorities can pause the decision timeframe for an application; this happens when the authority asks the applicant for more information.
The planning authority must tell the applicant in writing within 8 business days if the extra information provided is sufficient.
State Planning Provisions can now include maps, overlays, or lists to show which land they apply to.
The Commission can now recommend any matter for inclusion in interim State Planning Provisions; this expands the scope beyond safety and prescribed circumstances.
