Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Vice-chancellors appointed at the Australian National University and Table A higher education providers cannot earn more than $430,000 per year.
The Minister can set a different pay amount for a vice-chancellor's first year of appointment.
Higher education providers must give information to TEQSA if asked about vice-chancellor pay.
Providers breach their registration conditions if they fail to fix a pay limit violation within three months.
