Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Public office holders cannot earn more than $430,000 a year.
The Tribunal must consider superannuation entitlements when setting pay bands.
The Tribunal must keep pay under $430,000 for classifications within a structure.
The Minister can set a different pay limit using a legislative instrument.
The Minister must issue this instrument by 1 July for it to apply to the following year.
The Tribunal no longer needs to give written consent for certain remuneration matters.
