Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

People cannot import or export greyhounds or their reproductive material without permission.
The Minister can only grant permission if the greyhound is a domestic pet; it cannot be for racing, breeding or any commercial use.
Exporters must keep records of the greyhound's age, sex, weight and the reason for export.
Exporters must track the names and addresses of both the sender and receiver.
These records must be kept until the Minister approves their destruction.
Parliament must approve any one-sided rule change that tries to remove these bans.
