Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

A person commits an offence if they drink liquor in a public place or vehicle and cause a nuisance to others.
The offence is one of strict liability; the person is responsible regardless of intent.
The maximum penalty is 5 penalty units.
A person is not guilty if the owner or occupier of the public place gave permission to drink there.
