Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The grant is available for homes that are not new if the contract is made between 1 October 2024 and 1 October 2025.
The grant amount jumps to $50,000 for new homes if the transaction starts between 1 October 2024 and 1 October 2025.
The grant is $10,000 for homes that are not new; it is also $10,000 for any home if the transaction starts after 1 October 2025.
Applicants must live in the home for at least 12 months if the transaction starts between 1 October 2024 and 1 October 2025.
Applicants must live in the home for at least 6 months if the transaction starts outside that window.
Replacement contracts for the same home are treated as if they were made on the date of the original contract.
