Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

People can give an enforceable promise to fix a breach of the Act or an Authority Certificate; this must include time limits and monitoring methods.
The Supreme Court can order a person to comply with an undertaking; it can also order them to pay compensation or costs.
The Authority can perform any act specified in a court enforcement order; it can recover its costs as a debt.
People are immune from criminal proceedings for an offence while an enforceable undertaking is in force; they are permanently barred from prosecution if they comply with the undertaking.
The Administrator can terminate a member's appointment if the Minister recommends it.
Transferees can apply for a new Authority Certificate for the same land and work; the old certificate is cancelled.
Certificate holders can apply to add recorded parties to their Authority Certificate.
