Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Minister can appoint a body corporate to control thoroughbred, harness, or greyhound racing via a Gazette notice.
The Minister can specify which race clubs the appointed body controls.
Decisions made by Thoroughbred Racing NT Incorporated between 1 July 2024 and its official appointment are now valid.
Actions taken by other people based on those Thoroughbred Racing NT Incorporated decisions are also valid.
