If this bill passes, it means that:

The Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Northern Territory) Act 1994 no longer lists aiding, abetting, or conspiracy as specific ancillary offences.

The Tribunal now handles matters under the Real Property (Unit Titles) Act 1975 that were previously handled by the Court.

Building certifiers must issue building notices in accordance with requirements set by regulation and are no longer required to provide them under the Competition Policy Reform (Northern Territory) Act 1996.

The definition of Commonwealth administrative laws is updated for agricultural and veterinary chemical regulations and the Gene Technology (Northern Territory) Act 2004 to include the Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024 (Cth).

A licensee under the laws for racing and online gambling is strictly liable if they break a condition of their licence.

The bill removes a large number of old and redundant laws from the statute books, including those relating to criminal records, bail, sentencing, the criminal code, summary offences, annual leave, biological control, and financial services reform.

The bill removes old laws and regulations concerning crown lands, pastoral land, water, territory parks and wildlife conservation, the Lands Acquisition Regulations 1979, and the Crown Lands (Commonage) Regulations 1946.

The bill removes old laws relating to the administration of the police, the courts, the legal system, motor vehicles, traffic, fisheries, consumer affairs, taxation, superannuation, pensions, and the Northern Territory Treasury Corporation.
