Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Police banned drinker orders now last for 28 days; they previously lasted for 7 days.
Police officers can issue a 28 day order if an adult breaks a previous banned drinker order.
The officer must believe on reasonable grounds that the person broke the order.
Existing 7 day orders stay in force for their original length; however, the new rules apply to them as if they were 28 day orders.
