If this bill passes, it means that:

Taxi licence applicants must choose a licence period of 12, 24 or 36 months.

Private hire car licence applicants must choose a licence period of 12, 24 or 36 months.

Limousine licence applicants must choose a licence period of 12, 24 or 36 months.

Renewal applicants for these licences must also nominate a period of 12, 24 or 36 months.

Licences remain in force for the specific period chosen in the application; this starts from the day the licence is granted or renewed.
