Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Pipeline licensees must eliminate or control hazards that risk pipeline integrity; failure to do so is a criminal offence.
Inspectors can enter any land related to pipeline operations.
Inspectors can force people on that land to help them; they can also order people to attend meetings if the CEO approves.
Inspectors cannot enter residential premises without a search warrant.
People following a direction can enter land if they give 7 days' notice; they can enter immediately in an environmental emergency.
Inspectors must give a receipt within 7 days for any items they seize.
