Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Employees can request changes to their work hours, patterns, or location; they no longer need a specific personal reason to do so.
Employers must genuinely engage with employees who make these requests.
Employers can only refuse a request to work from home up to 2 days a week if the job's core duties become impractical or impossible to perform.
Employers must consider reasonable adjustments to accommodate a work-from-home request before refusing it.
Employers must provide reasonable business grounds to refuse any other type of flexible work request.
The Fair Work Commission can decide if an employer's reason for refusing a work-from-home request is valid.
