Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Establishes the Sexual Assault Prevention, Intervention and Response Commission (SAPIR Commission).
Bans people with sexual assault convictions from joining the ADF.
Forces the ADF to process members for administrative separation if they get a civilian conviction for qualifying sexual misconduct.
Requires people receiving sexual assault reports to tell victims under 18 about their rights.
Bans the SAPIR Commission from starting investigations based on restricted reports.
Prohibits SAPIR Commission records from containing personally identifiable information about victim-survivors who make restricted reports.
Requires the SAPIR Commissioner to create a sexual assault prevention regime; this includes standardised data collection across Defence.
