Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The CEO can request information or documents from people during an assurance review.
Bodies running accredited management frameworks must provide facilities and assistance during these reviews.
The Minister must get advice from the CEO before accrediting a management or authorisation framework.
The Minister no longer needs to ensure a framework promotes property management; it must simply not be inconsistent with it.
The Minister can change or cancel a declaration while that declaration is suspended.
The Minister must follow a new process for tabling and opposing the accreditation of frameworks for bilateral agreements.
Bilateral agreements with States or Territories have no effect if they omit required undertakings about water resources.
