Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Listed corporations face fines of 600 penalty units for unfair trading practices.
Suppliers of subscription contracts must give subscribers specific information while the contract is active.
Suppliers must provide a way for subscribers to end a subscription contract.
Suppliers are exempt from these rules if the consumer is carrying on a business.
People using specific legal exemptions in court must prove those exemptions apply.
The Commonwealth Minister must table a review report in Parliament within 15 sitting days of receiving it.
