Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Parliamentary Departments get $195,149,000 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.
The money must be used for departmental costs or specific outcomes listed in the bill.
Presiding Officers can approve extra spending for urgent or unforeseen needs.
Extra spending approvals are capped at $300,000 for the Senate, House of Representatives, and Parliamentary Budget Office; the Department of Parliamentary Services is capped at $1 million.
Money can be moved from these appropriations into special accounts.
The Act ends on 1 July 2028.
