Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

It is a crime to display a prohibited organisation symbol on private property without the owner's or occupier's consent.
It is a crime to apply a prohibited organisation symbol to property unless it is done in good faith for the public interest.
People who receive a removal notice must take down the prohibited organisation symbol within 14 days.
Senior police officers must serve removal notices as soon as possible.
The Police Commissioner must notify parties as soon as possible if a removal notice is revoked.
Organisers of public meetings or processions commit an offence if they provide false or misleading information.
Permit decisions for street processions must now prioritise risks to public safety.
