Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Easter Saturday is now a public holiday for employees under the Minimum Conditions of Employment Act.
Show Day is now a public holiday for employment conditions.
Western Australia Day is put back into the list of public holidays for employment conditions.
Labour Day is set as the second Monday in March; it moves to the third Monday if the second falls after a polling day.
Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Show Day are treated as public holidays even if a specific legal instrument does not mention them.
The Sovereign's Birthday no longer requires a Gazette proclamation to be a public holiday for employment conditions.
The King's Birthday holiday is now always the second Monday in June.
Western Australia Day moves to the second Monday in November.
Legal documents that refer to Easter Sunday now automatically include Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Show Day.
