Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Easter Saturday is now a public holiday.
Show Day is now a public holiday for employment conditions.
Western Australia Day is put back into the list of public holidays for employment conditions.
Labour Day is set as the second Monday in March; it moves to the third Monday if the second falls after a polling day.
Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Show Day are treated as public holidays even if a specific legal instrument does not mention them.
The Sovereign's Birthday no longer requires a Gazette proclamation to be a public holiday for employment conditions.
