Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Commissioner must tell applicants or licensed valuers in writing if they plan to impose, keep, or remove a licence condition; they must give reasons and allow the person to make submissions.
The Commissioner must notify the person of the final decision and their right to appeal to the State Administrative Tribunal.
Licence applicants must prove they are of good character; they must also show they are competent and meet specific qualification or membership criteria.
The Commissioner can impose conditions on a licence; this includes limiting the valuer to specific land types or requiring supervision.
Licensed valuers can face disciplinary action if they breach a licence condition or the code of conduct.
Authorised officers can issue infringement notices for offences under the Act. These notices must be issued within 21 days of the officer finding enough evidence and within six months of the offence.
The Commissioner can demand more information from licence applicants.
People applying for a land valuer licence must use the approved form and pay a fee.
The Commissioner can grant a land valuer licence if the applicant shows they are competent, have a good character, and meet specific qualification or experience rules.

The Land Valuers Licensing Amendment Bill 2025 will amend the Land Valuers Licensing Act 1978 (LVL act) to reduce red tape, improve productivity and lower costs for industry and consumers by streamlining processes and recognising land valuers who specialise.”
