Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Minister must set an interim Government target via a Gazette notice.
The Minister must prepare an emissions reduction strategy.
The Minister must consider necessary policies and programs when creating or updating the emissions strategy.
The Minister must notify Parliament if the emissions strategy does not need updating.
The Minister must prepare a climate adaptation strategy; this requires public consultation.
The Minister must nominate a Minister for each sector to handle adaptation plans.
The Act binds the Crown in right of Western Australia.
