Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
The Climate Action Minister must set an interim Government target via a Gazette notice.
The Climate Action Minister must prepare an emissions reduction strategy.
The Climate Action Minister must consider necessary policies and programs when creating or updating the emissions strategy.
The Climate Action Minister must notify Parliament if the emissions strategy does not need updating.
The Climate Action Minister must prepare a climate adaptation strategy; this requires public consultation.
The Climate Action Minister must nominate a responsible minister for each sector to handle adaptation plans.
The Act binds the Crown in right of Western Australia.
