Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

The Treasurer can spend money from the Consolidated Account for the purposes listed in Schedule 1; this must happen by 30 June 2027.
The Treasurer can use the Consolidated Account to pay liabilities or financial commitments made before 1 July 2026.
The Treasurer can move money from one agency to another if functions are transferred; this also applies if an agency is abolished.
The Treasurer can spend money from the Hospitals Fund to maintain and improve public hospitals and their equipment.
The State sets the overdraft limit for the Public Finance and Audit Act at $150 million.
