Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
Authorised entities can enter and stay on land to conduct surveys, planning, or design work.
Authorised entities may use reasonable force to enter a project area.
Entities must give the occupier written notice of the date, time, and reason before entering land for the first time.
Authorised entities must repair any damage caused while exercising these powers.
The Minister can temporarily close roads by publishing a notice in the Gazette.
The Minister must offer compensation for land; this offer follows the rules of the Land Acquisition Act 1969.
The Land Acquisition Act 1969 does not apply to land dealings conducted under this Act.
