Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Political parties, candidates, and campaigners cannot accept foreign donations.
The Commission can force people or entities to hand over documents.
Party officers and candidate agents must lodge disclosure returns within 21 days of hitting the donation threshold.
Associated entities must give the Commission an annual financial return within 16 weeks of the financial year ending.
Independent elected members must include an auditor's certificate with their annual returns.
Eligible parties and independent candidates can receive public funding for general elections.
Former independent elected members must pay back administrative funding if they are no longer in office.
