Coal Innovation Administration Amendment Bill 2026

Mr MICHAEL DALEY, Attorney General — 2026-06-03

As part of the release of the NSW Coal Industry 2026-50 document, the Government included plans to wind up Coal Innovation NSW. The bill before the House allows for amendments to the Coal Innovation Administration Act 2008 giving effect to the dissolution of Coal Innovation NSW. The bill will also repeal or amend provisions requiring the establishment, functions and operation of Coal Innovation NSW. In addition, the bill ensures that the Coal Innovation NSW fund can continue to be administered by the Minister for Natural Resources so that the funding agreements committed for two remaining legacy projects can be upheld and continued until completion.
