Effects of this bill

If this bill passes, it means that:

Motor vehicles weighing over 1,550kg are treated as weighing exactly 1,550kg for tax purposes; this applies if the registered operator lives in a rural area outside the Greater Sydney Region.
Operators with multiple eligible vehicles at one address can only apply this weight limit to one vehicle.
The weight limit does not apply to any other vehicles at that address.
Operators must nominate the chosen vehicle in writing to Transport for NSW.
This nomination must happen before or during the registration renewal process.
