If this bill passes, it means that:

Courts can now order up to three years of probation for children convicted of 20 additional offences added to the 'Adult Crime, Adult Time' serious offences list.
Courts can sentence children to the same maximum detention period as adults for these offences.
Children convicted of offences that carry life sentences for adults face a mandatory 15 year minimum non-parole period.
Courts can no longer use restorative justice orders for offences on the 'Adult Crime, Adult Time' serious offences list.
Judges can now decide the release date for children in detention for offences on the 'Adult Crime, Adult Time' serious offences list, instead of following a mandatory minimum service period.
