Effects of this bill
If this bill passes, it means that:
CSG resource authority holders must pay landowners or occupiers for land subsidence; this applies to land within the authorised area or access land.
Holders must also pay for subsidence that affects land within a set distance outside the authorised area.
CSG authority holders and claimants can take disputes about compensation to the Land Court; the court can decide the liability and make orders.
The Land Court can review compensation decisions if there is a material change in circumstances.
CSG activities in the Condamine Alluvium CSG area are no longer subject to certain regional planning interest restrictions.
Certain wells under the Environmental Protection Act 1994 are exempt from specific regulatory requirements.
