Effects of Bill:

Car or Boat licences issued in error or because someone lied on their application can be cancelled by the Secretary of the relevant government dept
Buses, cars used for Uber/Lyft transport, Taxis, Couriers can no longer be fixed by anyone who is not a qualified mechanic - previously the person who owned the car could fix it or employees could fix their work car
The limit on the maximum amount payable from the Motor Dealers And Repairers Compensation Fund will be set by regulations, with a hard limit of $40,000 written into law
A person selling a boat can now also sell a boat trailer along with it without being required to have a motor dealers licence
Gas and Electricity Consumer Safety laws now include ability to investigate Autogas safety too
The relevant Minister can now grant exemptions from the Consumer Safety laws for some Gas and Autogas appliances and setups
It is now definitely clearly in the law, that if a person is working on an Autogas setup which is designed to use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), they must be a gasfitter who is qualified to work with LNG and Autogas equipment
The Commissioner for Fair Trading can grant partial or full exemptions from the laws that govern Pawnbrokers and Second-hand Dealers
The contract cleaning industry Long Service Leave Committee must now include two people with experience in and who know a lot about contract cleaning
