Effects of Bill:
This bill being passed means that... Workers who lodge claims with WorkCover but get a decision they are not happy with, can appeal to the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service (ACCS). A majority of the time, the ACCS can resolve the dispute, however in some cases the remaining choice is for a worker to pay big bucks to go to court, or just give up. This amendment means the worker can choose arbitration by the ACCS, who then makes a binding decision on what happens - this is less expensive than going to court.
