This bill being passed means that... An employer can be charged with Wage Theft for paying an employee less than the minimum wage, even if the employee agreed to it (to avoid coercion such as where the employee has no bargaining power)
This bill being passed means that... Refusing to pay annual leave, pay overtime when the employee has worked overtime hours, or treating employees as contractors on paper to avoid paying entitlements are now all classed as Wage Theft.
